Revit and construction documentation

House and Complex Revit Designs

What

  • Completed a residential house design at 10 Flinders Street, including site plan, floor plans, elevations, and room schedules.
  • Designed a multi-building community residential project at 22-25 Rothschild Ave, Rosebery, NSW.
  • Compiled Revit 2025 sheet documentation for both designs.

How

  • Built 3D models of apartments and community centre using Autodesk Revit.
  • Applied AS1100 material patterns and line weights for construction documentation.
  • Produced cover pages, site plans, floor plans, north/south/east/west elevations, sections, room schedules, and quantity takeoffs.

Result

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Revit worksharing, clash detection, sheet management, and AS1100 drafting standards.
  • Built skills directly transferable to a trainee drafter role using AutoCAD or 12D.

Mechanical prototype and testing

Morphing Airfoil

What

  • Designed and manufactured a morphing airfoil with a compliant acrylic mechanism and NACA 0015 airfoil.
  • Responsible for compliant mechanism design, leading edge CAD, problem statement, and reports.

How

  • Selected NACA 0015 for 15% thickness, balancing structural rigidity and lift/drag ratio.
  • Used CAD tools, including extrude cut and insert curve through XYZ points, to model the airfoil and compliant ribs.
  • Programmed Arduino with simple loop-based angle inputs, without a manual knob, for fast testing.

Result

  • Wind tunnel testing confirmed the morphed configuration achieved higher lift-to-drag ratio than the non-morphed configuration, validating Bernoulli's principle.
  • Delivered a lightweight, functional morphing wing tested in a 300 mm x 300 mm wind tunnel with measurable lift/drag data.
